You know, mistakes happen. Who hasn’t gotten caught up in emotion and lashed out inappropriately? And then regretted the consequences … Inky lived with a dog in his previous home, but it was an uneasy alliance. Inky was chronically nervous around him—just didn’t trust him. And that sort of living situation can put a guy on edge! Inky’s a confident, spunky, active cat, but this dog was really cramping his style. One night, things just got out of hand. It was the kitty witching hour—right around bedtime for humans—and Inky thought it would be funny to pounce on his owner in her bed. Well, that didn’t go well, and the whole thing ended in a bite incident. Inky’s now here at HSCC—looking for a home sans dog, where he can feel comfortable and relaxed. Inky’s neighbor, who had come to love him through housesitting, decided to sponsor his adoption fee to help him get re-situated. So this special guy can go home for free! Despite that feisty moment, Inky is affectionate and outgoing—likes to follow his people around. And so long as there are no dogs in the picture, Inky’s cool.

A friendly guy with happy feet and a wiggly tail, Bud’s ready and excited to make your acquaintance! Coming to Vermont from Brother Wolf Animal Rescue in North Carolina, Bud’s traveled quite a distance in his search of a new family to call his own. And we sure are glad he did! With his sweet, energetic and gentle personality, we think Bud will be right at home here in the Green Mountains! A fan of social time, squeaky toys (his favorite!), and hanging with the staff and his canine pal Runt, Bud is sure to make a fantastic canine companion!
