An Ultrasound procedure generates computerized images of internal organs such as the heart, liver, spleen, kidneys, and bladder using noninvasive sound waves. It can aid in the diagnosis of conditions such as tumors, obstructions, fluid accumulation and other common diseases. It is also useful for assessing fetal health and monitoring pregnancy in breeding animals.
Sample scenarios for use:
Pregnancy checks as well as infertility issues for breeding.
Assist with obtaining urine with small bladders.
Patient is not eating well, and abdominal radiographs show a mass. Additionally, it can then be used as a guide for sampling which will lead
to a diagnosis.
If the patient is vomiting, experiencing abdominal pain, and a mass is palpable. This can help rule out a foreign body obstruction, pancreatitis, or other needs for surgical intervention.
Feline patient with chronic diarrhea, poor response to dietary change, deworming and probiotics who is now vomiting and losing weight. This can help rule out IBD and lymphoma. Additionally, it can then be used as a guide for sampling which will lead to a diagnosis.
